Technology will change all our lives. Its impact on access to justice is no less certain. This site is funded by the The Legal Education Foundation as a resource for all those concerned to discuss, investigate and evaluate to investigate what is happening around the world. The site content will initially be managed by Roger Smith, an English solicitor who has worked in the field of legal services and human rights and written widely about them. Roger has written two annual reports on developments – one for 2014 which is available here. The next, for 2015, is forthcoming.
Roger is a visiting professor at London South Bank University; an honorary one at the University of Kent; holds an honorary doctorate from Westminster University; was awarded an OBE and has worked for a variety of not for profit organisations in the field of human rights and legal services including JUSTICE, the Legal Action Group, the Child Poverty Action Group, the Law Society and two community law centres. He is responsible for a newsletter on legal aid developments for the International Legal Aid Group.
